These are the big question that many businesses are struggling with. Especially when the competition on the Internet is becoming more and more competitive with millions of websites.
In this article, I will share with you three very significant SEO tips that you must know and apply to help ranking your website in the first position on Google (or at least will be a website on the first page) in this year.
SEO Tip No.1 – Focus on your niche ONLY
The issue with many websites is they don’t have a focused contents strategy. They try to cover a lot of content to get attention from viewers, especially for small and medium business.
The idea of many businesses owners is using the trending to create contents for their website and try to apply these trends to have connection with their products when it even can’t be related to.
For example: I know many financial websites which should focus on saving, investing and loans. However, besides their main contents on their expertise, they also put a lot of effort in creating contents related to healthy food and doing exercises at home during the Covid-19.
Although we know the demand for healthy food and home exercise are increasing rapidly during this period of time. However, trying to attract traffic to your website by this way is not ideal.
Because you are confusing google algorithms that they can’t recognize what is your expertise for and hardly to put your website (contents) at the first page such as the pages which are only focus on creating contents related to healthy foods and exercise.
So the best way to improve your SEO and make your contents to be outstanding is just focus on your NICHE – and create multiple valuable contents in your fields to release on the website.
SEO Tips No.2 – Optimise Your Title Tags and Meta Description
Firstly, you need to have a clear understanding about what are your title tags and meta description?
Following Moz, you can understand that “A title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. Title tags are displayed on search engine results pages (SERPs) as the clickable headline for a given result, and are important for usability, SEO, and social sharing”.
While meta description is “A snippet of up to about 155 characters – a tag in HTML – which summarizes a page’s content. Search engines show it in search results mostly when the searched-for phrase is within the description. So optimizing it is crucial for on-page SEO”
In this example, the title tag is: “How to build your social media marketing strategy”. And the meta description is the first and second line you see “That’s why…help you…”
And when it comes to SEO, your title tag is the second most important SEO factor right behind content, according to Moz.
So if you want to boost your rankings and site traffic, optimise your title tag is a compulsory factor. Because if your page is ranking but not getting clicks because your title tag isn’t attractive enough. Your page will lose the ranking quickly.
And following the analysis of Ross Hudgens: “Using the right title tag can improve your CTR by anywhere from 20-100%”.
And we all know that a higher CTR means a higher conversion rate.
When working with your title tags and meta description, there are 3 criteria that you need to pay attention to are:
- Easy To Read
- Make a meaning Sentence
- Attractive to read.
If your title tag and meta description can’t satisfy these requirements, it will very hard for your content and website to be ranked higher on google.

3. Creating video contents
If you want to rank #1 on Google, videos are the “Must-have” contents you need. Because the videos have a very important SEO ranking impact. It makes people stay on your site longer and can make it easier to find your content.
And as mentioned in the research of Neil Patel, he said that “If used correctly, video can be an extremely powerful form of content and make a … to link back to your domain, which will help your overall SEO efforts as well”.
So let pay more attention to creating video contents for your site if you really want to master your ranking on google game.
Firstly, make sure to have your specific NICHE to create contents about. If you don’t have enough ideas to create contents, let check your competitor to see what they are doing and create the contents in similar topic (but a better version).
Secondly, If you have good content on your site but you still don’t have the clicks. You must double check your title tags and meta description.
